Holidays in Sportland Austria.

A region famous for its sports, opportunities for relaxation and Christmas Markets ......... skiing, tobogganing, horse-drawn sledge rides, off-piste skiing, ice curling, walking in unspoilt natural surroundings, health spas, thermal baths etc.

The Salzkamergut Mountain Bike Triphy Trophy in Bad Goisern.

That feeling of achievement as you reach the summit of the mountain, easy to very challenging cycle routes, stunning scenery, sheer pleasure and relaxation are all to be enjoyed by keen cyclists.

Bad Goisern has been one of the most popular destinations for mountain bikers, even before the International Salzkammergut Mountainbike Trophy event was established.

All this right in the heart of Austria. Whilst the fog and clouds linger down in the many valleys which make up our region, 140 km of ski pistes have been freshly prepared and the parasols set up. The main ski resort is approx. 15 minutes from the apartment.

The Dachstein

The Dachstein high mountain plateau is the perfect destination for walkers during the winter months too. A paradise for off-piste skiers! Who could resist a trip up the Dachstein on a sunny day in late winter? The Krippenstein cable car summit station is at 2100 metres, and is the perfect starting point for a range of delightful ski/snow shoe tours of the Dachstein, ranging from easy to challenging.

Sledging

Those who wish to belong to the „in crowd“ invest in new sports equipment each winter. The exception to this is tobogganing – a sport which appeals to all ages. All you need, for hours of fun, is an old wooden sledge and a forest trail cleared of snow. Alternatively, there is a famous toboggan run in Bad Goisern.
