Hallstatt - Dachsstein - Saslzkammergut

The spa town of Bad Goisern am Hallstättersee is located 17 km from the geographical centre of Austria, in the southern part of the Austrian province of Upper Austria, in the UNESCO-designated Hallstatt - Dachstein - Salzkammergut region.

It is about 4 km from the flat to the centre of Bad Goisern. The world-famous town of Hallstatt or the imperial town of Bad Ischl can be reached by car in 15 minutes.

Inns, bakery, butchers and supermarkets are within a distance of 1 to 4 km.

In only 5 minutes you are on the cross-country skiing track or at the bus stop. This bus takes you to the skiing areas Dachstein West in Gosau, Krippenstein in Obertraun or to the "imperial city" Bad Ischl. The railway station Steeg-Gosau is 1.4 km away.

Bad Goisern and the Salzkammergut are known for their impressive landscapes, hospitable and traditional inhabitants, rare customs and has therefore become the "10th province of Austria".

The Salzkammergut has a very special flair. History with a touch of "Habsburg tradition" interwoven with contemporary art, culture with a distinctive touch.

From 1849 to 1914, Ischl was the summer residence of Emperor Franz Joseph I. For the emperor, his annual summer retreat in Ischl was "earthly heaven".

The landscape of the Salzkammergut is characterised by the Traun river system and a total of 76 larger and smaller lakes with drinking water quality as well as the surrounding mountains (Dachstein, Totes Gebirge, Traunstein and Höllengebirge).
